What if something happens to my clothes?
We know how much your wardrobe means to you — after all, each piece holds memories and magic. ✨ If your item is returned damaged beyond normal wear, our team will step in to mediate. We ask renters to treat every piece with care, and we offer a dispute resolution process if needed. In some cases, renters may be responsible for reimbursing the lender.
Who handles the cleaning?
The cost for dry cleaning is covered by the borrower. As a lender you can choose how to handle cleaning whether you take it for dry cleaning or wash at home - either way the cost for cleaning is covered!
What if my item gets dirty or stained?
All items include the cost of dry cleaning to take care of minor stains. If a stain can’t be removed, we’ll help resolve it fairly through our platform. As a lender you get to decide how and where to have your garment cleaned once it's returned to you.
How much do I list my item for?
You're in control of how much you want to lend your items for.
How much do I get paid?
You get paid 80% of the amount you list your item for. For example, you listed your stunning Cult Gaia gown for $200 for a 3-day borrow, you'll get paid $160 once the item is returned to you.
How do I get paid?
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. Once the item has been successfully returned and marked as complete, your earnings will be released straight to your account.
What kind of items do best on Sherbet?
Sherbet is unique from other community rental platforms in that we exclusively offer a curated quality selection of styles. That means you won't find fast fashion or raggedy threads that have seen better days here. This is the place to shop for what you would buy today and lend what you love. So, the best items to list are statement pieces, going-out outfits and designer pieces that are over $150 in retail value, in good, gently used condition, and have been sold in retail within the past 2 years (this means we're currently not accepting vintage pieces).
What if someone doesn't return my item?
In rare cases like this, we take it seriously. Renters agree to our terms and conditions which include item return obligations. If something goes missing, contact us right away and we’ll initiate our recovery and reimbursement process.
